Homo Urbanus ?

In 1900, 10% of the population lived in cities. In 2007, more than 50% of the population does. In 2050, 75% of the population will be city dwellers.

Humanity has entered the urban age. Urbanization is a huge phenomenon and, apparently, an inescapable process.
As part of that process, will city dwellers adapt to a universal urban lifestyle? Will the city bring about a worldwide standardization of feelings and emotions? At the dawn of the 21st century, are we witnessing the birth of a new lifestyle that of homo urbanus a universal lifestyle stretching from Paris to Sydney and from Mexico City to Alexandria?
