In the vast majority of cases, urban dwellers in the cities analyzed accept, and even assert, their lifestyle as a choice. However, we should not make monolithic judgments about a standard international urban lifestyle. While several of the characteristics that define the urban lifestyle appear to exist across borders, there are many country-by-country disparities with respect to urban quality of life.
