Young seniors and the city

If you were born between 1938 and 1953, you have certainly seen the world change.

In 1969, everyone watched mankind's first steps on the moon, and twenty years later the Berlin wall came tumbling down. You may even have moved around a lot or changed your political opinions. But above all you will have experienced change in your everyday life as your city has developed around you at a sometimes startling pace.

Today, those aged between 55 and 70 no longer feel as if they have been put out to graze. This is a time of new opportunities for those who still enjoy all their economic, professional and personal faculties -the era of the "young seniors".

The Observatory of Urban Lifestyles has examined the relationship young seniors have with their cities. This constituency feels fully at home in the urban environment and has enough hindsight to evaluate how it is has all changed. This is the interest in pitching their views against those of other generations.
